11/18/10 - Developmental work is in progress. I have been learning how to use Google SketchUp as opposed to using AutoCAD. I have the layout dimensions complete and I have started to create the gas pump which is based off of the design of the SuperFlow Fuel Dispensers that I have chosen to use. I am applying more detail to the layout as I discover more about SketchUp.
11/23/10 - Friday I was able to set up my Google Calendar right onto a post and I continued to work on my developmental work. Yesterday The whole Green Marina team was required to go out and survey the site that our Green Marina would be constructed at. That took up the whole period. Today I am working on my developmental work again, trying to work in as much detail as possible.
ReplyDelete12/1/10 - On Monday, Mr. Danko stopped by and reviewed all of the team's developmental work. After reviewing mine, Mr. Danko, my instructor, and myself agreed that I should not have slips because they are inconvenient to boaters. I sketched up a new design and will make the needed adjustments in my drawings. Also, I will be calculating the total wattage my design would use. I will only have electricity needed to be used for the pumps and the attendant's house to calculate thus far. The lighting on the dock will all be used by solar powered lamps which I have to work into my design.
ReplyDelete12/3/10 - Developmental work is underway and I have made new adjustments to my design. There will be only 4 pumps and also, there will be a pump out station for waste pump out. I am working on the details of the gas pumps right now.
ReplyDelete12/6/10 - For the beginning of the week I will still be working on the details of developmental work. I am trying to detail the gas pumps still. I am also going to begin to work on detailing the gas attendants house with a bathroom, a small convenience store, and possibly an office. Once my teammate MaR is finished with detailing the underside of the docks, I will use her drawings as a guide and begin to work on the piping that runs on the underside of the dock.
ReplyDelete12/9/10 - I have found a new website with drawings and information about the fuel dispensers I am using. I am contacting both companies I have found to see if they can provide me with information about the size of their pipes and other things. I have a drawing of the double-walled pipes made which I just need to adjust to the right sizes. I am also thinking about what I need to do to prepare for my FPU in a couple weeks.
ReplyDelete12/14/10 - I just found out that instead of a stationary dock, I now have to work with a floating dock for my design. I still have to figure out how to run the pipes through a stationary dock as well for the rest of the dock. Hopefully, this decision will not put me behind in the end scheme of things. I have been working on the detail of the pipes and fuel pumps.
ReplyDelete12/16/10 - I have been detailing the fuel dispensers and gaining ideas on how to place the pipes within the floating docks. Before I can really go ahead and draw the system, I need to develop a drawing of the gangway and floating docks that MaR has to give me the details of. I feel like this might be a hinderance in the future to the developmental work, but hopefully not!
ReplyDelete12/20/10 - Press release is due tomorrow so I have been working on that in this class period as well as at home. Finishing touches will be put on it tonight. I have continued to work on my drawings concerning the piping and gas pump.
ReplyDelete12/22/10 - The press release has been completed and I have been working on my drawings today. I am focusing on the small details of the pumps specifically still. I need to receive information about the floating docks as soon as possible so I can sort out the piping systems.
ReplyDelete1/6/11 - At the beginning of this week I have been gearing up for the progress update that will begin at the end of the week. I have been working on a couple of posts that I can use during the presentation.
ReplyDelete1/11/11 - I have been working on my developmental work, specifically with the pipes at the beginning of the week and today. Hopefully I will be able to receive the information about the floating docks sometime soon.
ReplyDelete1/11/11 - Twas a good day in the land of google sketch-up.
